Care Network International (CNI) is an outreach organisation established in August 2002. We are registered with the Department of Social Development (NPO 033-764) as well as the South African Revenue Service as a tax-exempt Section 18A public benefit organisation (PBO 930008481).
CNI conducts outreaches in various communitites within South Africa (KZN, Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Gauteng) and we have also done outreawch work in Zambia, Malawi, Lesotho, and India.
Our outreaches focus on the sick, poor and needy and also on children.
Outreaches to children include bibically based values programs; feeding; orphanage visitations.
We are also comitted to the spiritual well being of individuals and offer prayer and counselling to individuals that request these at our various outreaches.
To be a relevant and dynamic mission outreach organisation reaching individuals and communitites both locally and globally with the message of God's love and care.
To provide holistic outreach approach through tangible programs that demonstrates the message of hope and love of Christ and that meets the immediate physical and spritual needs.
COMMITMENT - dedicated to the people, tasks, and goals that define who we are.
HUMILITY - unassuming in our mission because we are servants of God.
RELEVANT - meeting the immediate needs of the people we reach out to.
INTEGRITY - upholding biblical standards and uncompromising in our vision.
SERVICE - providing excellent service through our outreaches because of our service to God and His people that ultimately bring honour and glory to Him.
TEAMWORK - fulfilling our vision through the joint efforts of our partners.
Our medical outreaches are inclusive of providing medical treatment (consultations and medication); dental treatment(consultation and extractions); reading glasses(to patients over 45 years of age); HIV counselling and testing.
These outreaches are provided free of charge at a primary healthcare level and conducted in various areas through our volunteer medical professionals. Doctors, nurses, pharmacists, dentists offer their time as part of their contribution to those that less fortunate and unable to access primary medical treatment at the time. Medical outreaches take place over 1 day to 5 days, depending on the area and resources available.
Our medical team is also available to offer training to locals in equipping them to establish ongoing screening facilities so that these facilities are sustainable in the areas. This includes education on healthy lifestyles such as hygiene, diet, and basic medical advice.
At all our medical outreaches, HIV testing and counselling is available on request. Patients are treated with confidentiality and referred to the nearest clinic if necessary for further treatment. Also, patients are educated on lifestyle changes including following a good eating plan. This part of the outreach includes pre and post counselling sessions with each patient.
Outreach to children includes creative methods that teach morals and values. Through this program we also inspire children to persevere towards their aspirations and goals. Building a well-grounded foundation in children will help them make meaningful contributions in their community and nation as they grow into adulthood. Life Coaching Programs are conducted in open spaces, tents, schools, and churches. Children are exposed to a variety of methods that are biblically based and that target areas such as social skills; peer pressure; self-esteem; motivation; spiritual awareness etc.
Outreach to orphans includes visiting the orphanages and conducting children's activity program with them. It is time for personal interaction, demonstrating love and care and engaging with the children in the activity program. During our visits we also distribute food and gift hampers to make the children feel extra special.
Care Network International in partnership with local organisations and churches provide sandwiches and drinks and sometimes hot meals to patients at the clinics that we conduct as well as to the children that attend our children's outreach programs. Our visits to the orphanage and children's hospital include provision of meals, food hampers and toys. The feeding program is dependant largely on the amount of resources that we receive for such.
Our outreaches are holistic. Whilst reaching out in tangible ways to meet the immediate needs of people, we also do not neglect the fact that many need prayer and spiritual counselling. Many who attend our outreaches share their problems, struggles, and fears. Our volunteers offer a sympathetic ear, and hope through God's love, prayer and local church support.
